Former Leeds defender says Newcastle goalkeeper could have blown his chances of a move

Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills says Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow could have blown his chances of a move to the Yorkshire club according to Football Insider.

Darlow has been linked to the Whites in recent days following the inconsistent form of Kiko Casilla and speculation surrounding the future of Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

However, Mills believes that Darlow now may find it difficult to sanction a move to Leeds following pictures in which Darlow and teammate Jonjo Shelvey were seemingly involved in a late-night physical altercation with members of the public whilst on their pre-season tour.

Mills had his say on the situation: “He has been involved an incident, should we say? That could put any move on hold. From images you see online, it doesn’t look great.”

“I would be tempted to say that any potential move that he has got in mind will now be put on hold until things have calmed down a little bit and proceedings have been dealt with.”

“The last thing you want to bring in is a player with unresolved baggage. It could go horribly wrong.”

Darlow is currently low down in the pecking order at St. James Park due to the impressive form of Martin Dubravka but he does come with a lot of Championship experience as he was a regular for the Toon a couple of seasons ago.

There is no doubting the ability of Darlow but with question marks surrounding his attitude following the latest incident could put off potential suitors.
