On Wednesday Preston North End officially announced the signing of David Nugent, who will join the club on 1st August.
The striker will return to Deepdale 12 years after leaving them to join Portsmouth for £6 million in 2007.
He was a fans favourite during his time at North End, scoring over 30 goals in two seasons and coming close to securing them promotion to the Premier League.
He even scored his one and only goal for England whilst playing for the club, becoming the first Preston player since Sir Tom Finney to play for the National side as he scored in a 3-0 win against Andorra.
He joined Portsmouth after being offered the chance to play Premier League football, whilst he admits his best spell was probably at Leicester, who he joined in 2011 and helped gain promotion to the Premier League.
He played with midfielder Paul Gallagher at Leicester and they will be playing together once more at Preston, both will be looking to use their experience to help the young squad that Alex Neil has put together.
The fans certainly showed their delight on social media when the deal was officially announced.

Alongside Ricardo Fuller, the greatest striker I have seen at @pnefc was David Nugent @NugeyPup and today he has re-joined 12 years after he left for a club record £6 million. Whatever happens it is a joyous moment for all the Deepdale faithful. #pne #pnefc #announcenugent pic.twitter.com/CvGq8XtFGK
