Departing play-maker Samu Saiz has today successfully negotiated a move away from Leeds United, in a switch to Spanish second Division side Girona for an undisclosed fee.
Saiz was held in high regard by the fans at Elland Road, with his direct, imaginative and diminutive approach to the game, he made for some exciting moments.
From hitting a hat-trick in the league cup, under the lights at Elland Road, to being sent off in South Wales for spitting during a loss in the FA cup to Newport County, there was always a talking point when it came to Samuel Saiz.
He will be missed from Elland Road, that is for sure, but with personal issues and needing to be close to his family a priority, many fans will be sympathetic to the 28-year-old’s situation.
When the club officially announced the transfer on Twitter earlier today, some fans aired their thoughts, best wishes and concerns, a mixture of emotions I think it’s fair to say…
Cheers Samu, I’ll never forget when you nearly scored the greatest goal of all time against Rotherham last year

Why’s everyone annoyed that he’s left he was on loan last season and didn’t even want to be at the club.

What a waste of talent that boy is.

Tinges of frustration at the seemingly squandered potential that Saiz undoubtedly possesses, but with a pending court case for being involved in match fixing, this could be a blessing in disguise for Leeds United, especially given that squad harmony is a top priority, following the sale of Pontus Jansson last week for being a bad influence.
Will Leeds spend the money they are bringing in on replacements in key areas of the squad or is this all merely an FFP play?
