According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Preston North End are keen to bring former loanee Brandon Barker back to the club from Manchester City to fill the gap left by Callum Robinson, after the Irishman completed a move to Sheffield United earlier this week.
As covered here on The72, Preston North End star man Callum Robinson completed a move to Premier League new boys Sheffield United earlier this week for a reported £6 million. And, Preston are wasting no time in finding his replacement, with Manchester City’s Brandon Barker being linked with a move.
PRESTON. Keen to do loan for Brandon Barker at MAN CITY. Been before. And would be ideal to replace Callum Robinson.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Deepdale, playing 20 times across all competitions, netting two goals and laying on two assists along the way. And, it has been claimed that the Championship side are looking to bring him back to the club after Robinson’s departure.
The Manchester City academy graduate has spent plenty of time out on loan from his parent club. Barker has spent loan spells with Rotherham United (four games, one goal), NAC Breda (23 games, two goals and on assist), Hibernian (30 games, two goals and five assists), and Preston North End. With the new season just around the corner, it is likely that Barker will head out on loan again for more senior game-time.
With Manchester City, Barker has appeared just once for the club’s first-team, playing most of his football with the club for the Under-23s. In City’s second string side, Barker has featured 35 times, scoring nine goals and assisting six times.
