Barnsley’s Team of the Year striker on the radar of Bristol City

The Sun journalist Alan Nixon has claimed on Sunday morning that Bristol City want Barnsley striker Kieffer Moore, and will offer “decent dough” to try and get a deal completed.

Barnsley’s 19-goal striker Kieffer Moore is on the radar of Championship outfit Bristol City, journalist Alan Nixon said on Twitter on Sunday morning.

Moore is coming off the back of another strong season in League One, finishing as Barnsley’s joint-top goalscorer, tied with Cauley Woodrow on 19 goals in all competitions. The big striker’s performances warranted a place in the League One team of the season, alongside four of his Barnsley teammates – Simon Davies, Dimitri Cavare, Ethan Pinnock and Alex Mowatt.

The Tykes’ promotion to the Championship as runners up to Luton Town will be a massive boost to their chances of keeping Moore, who has once again proved that he is above League One standard.

It would be expected that Barnsley will be unwilling to let Moore leave this summer, but with Bristol City reportedly willing to offer “decent dough”, could they be tempted into letting him leave? It remains unknown how much the “decent dough” is, as does Barnsley’s asking price for the striker.

Standing at 195cm tall, Moore is a danger for defenders in the air, but has proved himself to be more than just a target man. He enjoyed a prolific spell with Rotherham United in League One, scoring 13 goals in 22 League One games in the 2017/18 season.

Moore formed a strong partnership with Cauley Woodrow when both were available, and Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel will be hoping he can keep the pair this summer. Woodrow has recently penned a new deal with the club, and the club will be hoping that they fend off interest to keep Moore at Oakwell too.
