Watford v Leeds predictions

Leeds headed into last week's international break having won each of their last three matches, the last of which, a 2-0 win at home against Millwall, saw them climb to the top of the Championship table for the first time this season.

Daniel Farke's side are currently top of the second tier on goal difference, level on points with Leicester, who have a game in hand after their partaking in the FA Cup quarter final a fortnight ago.

The Yorkshire side have picked up 37 points out of a possible 39 since the turn of the year, which has seen them pull clear of the chasing pack in a promotion battle that looks set to go right down to the wire.

Leeds' away form had been a slight cause for concern earlier in the season, with the Whites losing their last three games on the road in 2023, but have since picked up 16 out of a possible 18 points in their six games this calendar year.

Watford prepare for their Good Friday clash against top of the table opposition having lost seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions, and with just one win in their last 12 prior to their victory over Birmingham before the international break.

The loss of form has seen the Hornets' play-off ambitions all but over, with the Hertfordshire side now dwelling in the bottom half of the Championship table, 13 points behind the top six.

Former Watford midfielder Tom Cleverley is the current interim head coach of the side following the sacking of Valerien Ismael earlier in the month.

Friday night's match will be Cleverley's second in charge of the club following after he managed to steer the club back to winning ways at St Andrew's a fortnight ago.

Home form has been a big struggle for the Hornets this season, with only QPR and Rotherham having picked up fewer points on home turf than Watford, a record they'll be aiming to improve upon on Friday night.

Leeds have won each of the last three meetings between the two sides, with the last two being won by 3-0 scorelines, but have lost on three of their last four visits to Vicarage Road.

📝 Watford v Leeds betting tips

Leeds head into Friday's clash as strong favourites for victory and are expected to keep their promotion charge going, and Betfair's offer of 9/5 of Leeds to win to nil against a Watford side with seven defeats in their last 10 looks a near certainty.
